[Someone has been wanting to keep herself distracted after a particularly difficult curse followed by her knight leaving the city.]

Hello everyone, I've been wondering if anyone knows of any available jobs I might be suited for. I don't really have any practical work experience. I don't think being a princess and a sub-viceroy count. But I think I take direction well, and I could learn.

Well, we kinda had to make him, and we all did our share of late and all nighters.

[Ken's eyes go a little wide at the sight of the roast. It's the biggest meal he's had since before Mamoru had left, and it was all he could to keep from drooling. He might be a good boy, but he was still just a boy at heart]

Oh, no way. I like meat way too much to stick to veggies, even if they're healthy. That looks... really good.

[Isn't going to think about how they were assassination all nighters!] I'm glad you think so. [She smiles brightly at him as she sets it on the counter and the gets the slightly scalded gravy to pour into a gravy dish.] Lelouch made rolls too. He goes a little overboard sometimes. But he would call this quick and unimpressive I think.

[Ken shakes his head, smiling.]

He sounds like an overachiever.

He is. [Smiles very fondly] He's a good brother though. I'm grateful he's here. [Aaaaand there is a flicker of sadness in her eyes before she turns away, busying herself with some tea.] Mm...would you like tea to drink? We have water and milk and juice I think.

[Without thinking, he reaches over and lays a hand over hers.]

Water or tea is fine, but I can help if you like. There's no need to do all this, Euphie.

[A little surprised at the touch, but it's calming in a way. She smiles down at their hands.] Thank you. [Wasn't she supposed to be cheering you up?]

I haven't set the places yet.

[Smiling, Ken winks at her and starts looking for the dishes. Hey, it's something to do with the least amount of damage!]

[She smiles back at him fondly, and is absolutely not going to think about how much she'll miss him if he goes home! She moves the food dishes to the table.]

Learning about my new job was fun today.

[Still smiling, he follows her a moment later with dishes and all the utensils they'll be needing]

When do you start working?

I'm not sure. I might still be training next time. I'll be going back on the next non cursed day I think before something is officially arranged.

(OOC: la la la, makes stuff up)

[Busy moving the plates around]

You'll do great.

Everyone is so encouraging. [Pours tea for both of them.]

How are things with the police?

This place might be a pain sometimes, but a lot of the people here are pretty nice.

[Wastes no time in sipping at the tea, humming under his breath]

Busy, but it's always been like that. My department just lost someone, so we're back down to three people.

There are lots of amazing people here.

It seems like that's been happening a lot. [Okay, maybe she's still thinking about it.]

Eh. People come and go. I'm just glad to have had the chance to have met so many good ones.

That is a good way of looking at it. I try to think more about meeting new people than missing those who have left.

[Ken takes a moment to peer down at the leaves in the bottom of his cup]

It's human nature to miss people, though. We just need to learn to balance that with meeting new people we'll end up being friends with.

[Smiles gently at him.] You sound wise when you say things like that.

[Blinks, then screws his face up in one sillyass grin]

God no.

[Giggles] You don't think so?

[Shakes his head, still grinning.]

No way. There's no way I'm wise and if I sounded wise, it was a one time thing.

Then I'll just have to remember it as a special occasion.

[chuckles and leans in to start serving his plate]

[She takes some food for herself too and finds herself just smiling at Ken. It was nice having someone here when Lelouch was at work.]

[finds it a little odd that the silence between them is a comfortable one, but it's a very welcome thing.]
