[The audio starts broadcasting the gentle sounds of the outdoors long before she speaks. Her voice is a little raw. She's been crying, but she's trying not to let it sound.]

Hello.

[Another long pause.]

I'm sorry I'm not contacting everyone individually. I'm not sure who they know well. ...Knew.

[There's another pause, but this time when she returns her voice is a little shakier. All the practice and control in the world can't take the pain out of these words.]

My brother, Lelouch, and sister, Nunnally, have left the City.

[It sounds like she might say more, but after a moment the audio shuts off.]


(OOC: Forward dated to late morning. Euphie is in Xanadu curled up behind a tree if anyone wants to action at her.)

[ just watching her from a distance. he has heard the broadcast, but he isn't sure if approaching her is the best course of action. ]

[She has herself curled up tightly. When she cries she tries to keep them soft, but the cool air carries the sound. She hasn't noticed anyone else around yet. Her thoughts are too troubled and running around in circles like a mouse on a wheel.

So many people are trying to comfort her by saying they are better off at home, but after what Suzaku's list said... She can only think about her brother going home to die and her sister having to lose him again.]

[ straightening, Suzaku moves slightly closer. they haven't spoken since the curse, and now that Lelouch and Nunnally has gone home, there can be no real conclusion to what has happened. Suzaku has decided to keep his promise, and though he knows that nothing will waver his decision, the guilt of hurting Euphie is something he can't shake off.

life's cruel, even at poly, and he has long accepted that happy endings weren't possible here. It wasn't an option back home for them either. ]

[She straightens when she hears the leaves crunch nearby. It's hard to walk quietly this time of year. Turning her head she sees him.

Suzaku.

The only one left from her world who she knew. Her knight. Her first love. Her brother's executioner.

She parts her lips to speak and there is sound but not words at first.]

[ he looks at her, eyes seemingly emotionless, but there's a tinge of sadness in them. ]

[ he kneels down so that he's level with her. it's a fair distance, but Euphie probably needs the space. especially from him. ]

Suzaku... [She looks over at him with large eyes. Why are you so far?]

You've been crying.

[Nods slowly.] I miss them.

[ he doesn't know what else to say. he can't assure her that it's going to be all right, and they would be safe back home.. because it isn't true. ]

Suzaku... [She shifts a little. He might have already noticed she is wearing Lelouch's coat instead of the one Flynn got for her when she arrived, but now he'd also be able to see the scarf he made for her.]
