I think the compulsion to show it off is maybe stranger than it being there at all. [A little somber because the only question in her mind is whether it stands for massacre or murder.]

A few people I had become friends with have gone recently. I hope I can see them again someday. I am happy to say a friend from my world is here now. Be kind to him, City.

I have not known my best friends for that long either but I found myself risking my own life for them. Bonds need not be long. They can be short yet meaningful.
