That was a very...enthusiastic curse. [The princess might be blushing a tiny bit.] I apologize for the unwelcome bidding, though I am glad I met some new people through it. And of course I'd like to honor the dates that were set up unless those people aren't interested. I'm not even entirely sure how many I won. [Embarrassed smile]

[He shows up at her door within the hour, a bouquet of irises in hand -- the only flowers he knows anything about are fire lilies, but the color of these seemed like how he remembered the color of her eyes, so they'd seemed as good a choice as any.

He's dressed a little nicer than usual in a collared shirt, even if it isn't buttoned up all the way -- which doesn't look as strange on him as you might expect. He gives a little knock on the door and smooths his hair back for all the good it'll do.]

[Euphie answers the door wearing a simple, but nice pink dress. She smiles warmly at him.] Hello, Raven. [She eyes the flowers happily.] Those are beautiful.

[She takes a step back into the room.] Please come in.

Well, they're not the only thing.

[He smiles and steps inside, trying to contain his excitement that oh my god a girl just invited him into her house, and succeeding for the most part.]

Hey, ya got a nice place here.

Oh? [He means... Oh. Blush!]

Thank you. Lelouch has as much to do with that as me if not more actually.

[Teasing smile.] So, no leash today?

[He gives an embarrassed laugh and rubs the back of his neck.] Yeah, she ended up goin' easy on me.

I'm glad. I really like Rita. Actually, I really like everyone from your world. [She smiles and starts toward the kitchen with the flowers.] I'm just going to put these in water before we go.

Heh. Yeah, they're all good kids. Don't let Rita know I said that about her, of course.

[He follows a few steps, but stops in the doorway to the kitchen and just leans in the door frame -- he doesn't want to crowd her.]

It nice, livin' with yer brother here?

[She just smiles when he calls them kids since she's actually a little younger than most of them.]

[Easily.] I love it.

I missed him so much. [Fills a vase with water.]

[He smiles. Sometimes his own family crosses his mind, but-- well, they aren't his family, just the family of a fallen soldier.]

That's good, then. Good ya get to see each other again. The City does some nice things fer people once in a while.

It does. I feel guilty sometimes wanting people to be here when most people have lives to return to where they don't have to worry about waking up as a duck some days. But I can't really dislike this place. It's given me too much.

[Blushes. She didn't mean to say so much.] Shall we? Or would you like the full tour of the apartment first?

[He straightens up and shrugs.] Whatever ya like, darlin'. Ya wanna show me around, I'd love ta see it, and if ya wanna get out there before the sun gets too low and bright, I'm happy ta do that too.

It won't take long I suppose. This is the kitchen. [Gestures around her with a smile as she shows it off] and right through here [she steps past him] is the dining room. [Everything tends slightly toward the elegant, but it's still comfortable and there are brights pops of color.]

Down this hallway is Lelouch's room. [Nods to a closed door on her right.] And Suza... and our guest bedroom. [She lightly taps the door frame. There are still some personal articles inside. But she moves on.] And this is my room. [She turns on the light to reveal a bedroom definitely belonging to a girl. There is a goodly amount of purple and there are several flower arrangements.]

[He shows polite but genuine appreciation at each room, laughing when she finally shows him her own -- he doesn't know what he expected, but it should have been this.]

Well, ya got an eye for decoratin', I'll sure give ya that.

[Smiles and turns the light off again.] Thank you. And I think I'm ready for that walk now if you are. [Leads the way back down the hall to the door.]

And thank you for the grand tour. Can't say our place is as impressive ta look at!

[He follows cheerfully and steps aside once they're outside so she can lock the door behind them.]

Mm. Good thing it's so nice out, huh? Figured it'd be just my luck for it ta start rainin' soon as we made plans.

I like your place. [Mostly for the people who live there.]

That wouldn't have been so bad. We could have rescheduled or done an indoor activity. I wouldn't have just canceled on you.

Indoor activities, huh? [His mind went there, but...] Ya like playin' games and stuff?

[So unaware!] I do. I play chess with Lelouch sometimes. He always wins of course. Do you like games?

Yeah, sure! Mostly card games and stuff like that with the fellas in the guild back home, but. Ya wanna show ol' Raven some high class games sometime, I'm happy to learn.

Chess isn't really my favorite. I like more active games with lots of laughing. That's probably not very high class of me.

Oh yeah? [he smiles and gives her a little wink] Makes you a hell of a lot classier than a lotta the nobles I've seen, if ya ask me. Takes the right kinda person to enjoy a game fer the right reasons.

[Smiles back at him.] Do you spend much time around nobles? Yuri mentions things like that sometimes.

[It's a simple question, but one that he isn't sure how to answer, not unless he wants to use his usual tricks of ambiguity and diversion. He's been keeping up the Raven persona since he got here, and even though he knows it doesn't really matter what he lets people in on here -- and god knows Flynn's been practically spilling his secrets for him left and right -- he's not used to being an open person.

Hands joined behind his neck, he lifts his head and looks off, letting the question sit there for a few more seconds before he answers.]

Yeah. I was a knight too.

[She looks up curiously at that.] You were? But not anymore? I mean if you were still hope you wouldn't be one?
