[Have a brightly smiling princess on your video screens, City folk.] Isn't today just a good day? After everything that's happened I really want to just get out of the apartment and have adventures. Would anyone like to join me?

And we should go out to eat! [Because someone is actually hungry for the first time in a long time.]

Haha, people're probably gonna wonder what a pretty thing like you's doin' out on the town with a ratty old man like this.

[He closes the door behind him as he meets her on the front step with a playful pat on her shoulder. He almost needs to shield his eyes from the sun, but he wouldn't dream of complaining.]

[She wasn't really expecting the shoulder pat, but other than a slight tilt of her head she doesn't really give any indication.] You aren't a ratty, old man, Raven.

[He perks up a little with a grin; he's used to the girls in his party agreeing with his self-deprecating jokes.] Ya think so?

Of course not. Besides, there's nothing wrong with being older. Almost everyone gets older.

Well, yeah, but... [scratches the back of his neck, still smiling awkwardly]

So whaddya think they're gonna have at this park? [totally imagining an "amusement park" as like. a park with a jungle gym and a fishing hole.]

They'll probably have rides and food on sticks. Oh! I hope there is a ferris wheel! Do you like roller coasters, Raven?

[blink] Roller whats?

You haven't heard of it?

Can't say I have. Is it somethin' fun?

It looks fun on television. I've never actually been on one before. They go fast and turn in loops!

[NOT SURE IF THAT SOUNDS FUN OR TERRIBLE, but if it's scary, he could end up with a pretty Euphie clinging to him, SO.] Well, I'm willin' to give it a go if you are.

I am! It will be new for both of us. [Smiles brightly at him.]

Glad ta hear it! [Kind of glances at her out of the corner of his eye every once in a while as they walk -- he's got a pretty good idea of what this good mood she's in means, but he can't imagine how a girl like her would have ended up that way, and he's never been one to pry.]

Oooooh. [Catches sight of the ferris wheel ahead and her eyes widen. She looks over at Raven, still wearing that happy smile.] It's so pretty.

Hey, yeah! [He squints a little to get a better look in the bright sun.] And that's somethin' else ya get to ride around on, huh?

Yes. It should have lots of rides and activities like carousels and fun houses and the tunnel of love.

Tunnel of-- [glances over at her with BIG EXCITED EYES because oh man, she was the one that brought it up, that has to be a good sign, right?! wait no GOTTA PLAY IT COOL] Y-yeah, let's definitely check out all a' those!

[My what big eyes you have, Raven.] I'm not really sure if it will have them all, but I'd like to try as many as we can. [Innocent!]

Long as it's got some of 'em...

[She walks a little faster, eager to get on a ride. She might even be tugging a certain old man along with her.] Let's ride the ferris wheel first! It's so tall we'll see everything from up there.

[Happily follows along! Once they're at the front of the line, he ushers a few people in ahead of them so he and Euphie can get into a pink car.] Just a shot in the dark, but I thought ya might like the color.

[Laughs a little as she finally slide onto the bench seat on the ferris wheel.] I do. [And because it was a sweet gesture she doesn't tell him violet is actually her favorite color.]

Pink is a natural hair color in your world too, right? Estelle has it. [She didn't think the other princess dyed her hair at least.]

[Slides in next to her, but not too close.] Hm? Yeah, it is, just not too common. [He only ever saw it in the capital, now that he thinks about it.]

It's not especially common where I'm from either. One of my older sisters has purple hair. She's very beautiful.

Oh! [She grips the bar in front of her when the ride moves to let people on behind them and then giggles at her own surprise.]

[He's jolted a little too, laughing along with her as he steadies himself.]

It goes smoother when it's actually runnin', right?

Anyway, anyone related to you, I'd be surprised if they weren't.
