[She's been wanting—well, needing—to do this since she awoke yesterday. Even though it was a curse and everyone is fine now as Lelouch says everyone still deserves an apology.

They deserve more.

But she isn't sure what else she has to offer. She started writing one a few times before deciding it needed to be in her own voice. She couldn't be so cowardly as to hide in a letter. She just needed another few minutes to make sure she could start without falling apart in the process.]

Hello. [Long pause.] I would like to apologize to everyone I spoke to yesterday and everyone who saw my awful, shocking post. I am especially sorry to Ken and Syaoran who I... [So much for keeping her voice together. The curse. Dean. Suzaku. It was a very, very emotional few days for her, but she was a princess. She needed to continue, so she did.] hurt. And of course to all of the Japanese for my hurtful words.

I am so very, very sorry.

Umi, Mara, Flynn, Yuri, Lelouch...thank you all so much for stopping me and for helping Ken and Syaoran. I am forever in your debt.

[Pause] Cain, I would like to take some time off of work.

(OOC: Action open to Lelouch and anyone storming the castle. I mean...visiting the apartment.)

[She accepts the dish.] Thank you. That was sweet. Lelouch will be glad not to be doing all the cooking. [And that someone else is making her eat.] But why are you nervous?

[She steps further back into the apartment to lead the other girl to the kitchen.]

Anytime. [Umi follows her inside, glancing around the place absently. It's good that Euphie has family to take care of her here. She wonders if she'll get the chance to meet this brother of hers under better circumstances.]

You know how sometimes you feel as if things were sort of... hitting you all at once? I think I'm having one of those weeks.

Yes. I know exactly how that feels. [Because she is having one of those weeks too.] I'm sorry you're feeling that way.

It's nothing I haven't seen before, really. Not after a year stuck in this place. But... still.

[This isn't entirely true. This one's a stream of bad luck such as Umi has rarely known. But she doesn't want to burden Euphie with her problems. The other girl has enough on her shoulders as it is.]

I hope things start looking up for both of us.

[She looks at the offering the other girl brought and then back up to her.] Would you like some pie?

Aw, I-! Don't really like sweets. I.. mostly baked that with you in mind.

[Awkward, but while Umi believes that it'll do Euphie some good to have something sweet (comfort food, that they call it) she never really considered herself.

In fact, she's been eating next to nothing since Clef was attacked and things started going downhill.] I'll just have some tea! Want me to make some?

You don't like sweets? [Euphie is fond of them.] Oh, no, I can make it. That's something I'm good at.

Not really! I just can't swallow them.

And alright. [She laughs a little, still kind of weakly.] I wouldn't blame anyone for not wanting me in their kitchen!

Um. I sent the flowers. No name tag, just like you wanted it to be.

It isn't that. You're the guest.

[Quiet and thoughtful a moment, glad they got them.] Thank you. Oh! How much was it? [She will get the money.]

Um! Are you sure you want to? I mean, I wouldn't mind-!

[But wait. They had this conversation before. This actually means a lot to Euphie, right? To pay for the flowers herself.]

Er. Two greens will do. Have they... talked to you?

Thank you. [She'll just get the tea going before she goes to get those.] I talked to Ken a few times already and Syaoran just a little earlier.

[Sort of nervous about this since the last time she talked to Ken he was... quite upset.]

How did that go? [Syaoran at least she has no doubt will be completely understanding.]

It...went fine. [She isn't really sure herself how it went.]

[That doesn't sound too good. Umi stays silent for a moment.

Does it really make sense, that she's so worried about this? Maybe it's because all she's seen curses do to people. It seems ironic that she got to sympathize with Euphie so much after this happened, when a couple of days ago she was still wondering if she was going to take her relationship with Ken seriously. The other girl is so obviously hurt about what she did to him that there's really no space for doubt now.

She sighs and frowns in thought.]

Ken... Can be difficult, sometimes. Heck, MOST TIMES. But he obviously cares a lot about you. I think it'll be okay. [Even after everything.]

And I betrayed him. [Not looking up as she says it.]

...I care a lot about him too.

It wasn't because you wanted to. Nothing even close to that!

[She says this without hopefully enough determination.] He HAS to understand that.

It still must be hard for him.

...He wanted time.

He told me that too. [In a rather rude and angry fashion.]

Makes sense. I'm sure he'll come to terms with it.

[Nods. She's sure they'll still be friends, but will he still want her as his girlfriend? Everything was still so new for them and now this...] I hope so.

This is all so unfair... [It even reminds Umi of that time something similar happened to Ken. That curse struck, he went berserk, and ended up hurting Aya, Omi and even Umi. He of all people should understand how the City works, what its curses can do.

This is why... she's still confident he'll know better.]

At least no one died this time. ["This time" wasn't entirely intentional there.]

[It's exactly the part that surprises Umi. Did Euphie mean the City's usual antics, or...?]

Sometimes this place does things that get people killed, but...

You mean you've seen this sort of curse before?

[She looks surprised when Umi asks that and then she realizes what she said. She looks away, suddenly very intent on watching the tea.]

[At first she's rather sure Euphie means the City's doings. But the other girl's behavior brings Ken's words to mind. That once Euphie was made to hurt a lot of people without meaning to.]
